The insulation rebate which runs from 1st July 2009 to 31st December 2011 is a $3.9 billion insulation rebate economic stimulus plan. The insulation rebate is available to homeowners, landlords and tenants. The insulation rebate covers up to $1200 worth of ceiling insulation, with the average home costing only $1000. This means the insulation rebate is completely FREE.
One of the main influencing factors behind the insulation rebate is to reduce the amount of energy used in Australian homes. The insulation rebate will see homes saving up to 40% on their energy consumption meaning a significant drop in the amount of Green house gas emissions.
The Insulation rebate in the majority of homes is fully funded and paid for by the Australian Government.
The insulation rebate covers each eligible home for up to $1200 with the average home only costing $1000. In order for the insulation rebate to be Free homeowner must used registered installers. The registered installers will install the home and then submit that work order directly to the Federal Government for payment. So the insulation rebate means that NO MONEY WILL change hands between the homeowner and installer.
